Martha gave a report on the Zone Meet. She talked to Tom Pinnel, president of the Avanti Club. They will be a happy to assist in any way they can but unfortunately, many of their club members do not come to Florida until October. Hopefully, there will be enough members to judge the Avanti Class. Tom recommended dividing the Avanti Class into 3 groups: 6A will be 1963 & 1964 Avantis, 6B will be 1965 – 1983 (the Newman Altman group with chrome bumpers) and 6C will be 1984 – 2006. Tom will ask if any members have Avanti memorabilia to display on Friday night and he will give a short talk about Avantis if no one else volunteers.

Danny worked on the Turning Wheels ad, list of Divisions and registration form. Martha received address labels for the South East Zone from Cornerstone. There are 1015 labels for the SE Zone. The ad for Turning Wheels will be in the June edition.
Martha bought 20 black, 1963 model Avantis to use as centerpieces on Friday night.

Our meet begins with a James Bond style Cocktail Party & Dinner at the Cade Museum on Friday night. We will have shuttle buses from the hotel to the Museum and back. Danny, Martha & Bussey will meet with Celebrations and Dos Mamas before deciding who to hire to provide appetizers. Danny, Martha & Bussey will meet with Celebrations and Dos Mamas before deciding who to hire to provide appetizers. The meal will be catered by Cowboyz Bar-b-que. Don McCullen’s black Avanti will be on display and we will ask the Avanti Club if they have Avanti memorabilia to display and if any of their members would be interested in speaking briefly about the Avanti. We will encourage everyone to dress in 60’s cocktail party style.
Judging at the Concours will be on the 400 point system. We hope to have the Avanti Club judge Avantis. We will have 9 Divisions. We discussed dividing the Avanti class into two groups – 6A 1963-1964 and 6B 1965 on.
Also on Saturday, a picnic lunch will be served in a tent on the grounds to all who are registered for the meet. We hope to have a 60’s Studebaker station wagon on display. We discussed reducing the number of tables and chairs for the picnic to 10 tables and 100 chairs. At our last meet, we had seating for 190 but lunch will be a come and go as you please event, so seating for 100 should be plenty.
The Banquet will be preceded by Happy Hour. The Impostors will perform Beetles and other 60’s music.
We also decided that folks could visit Stephen Allen’s on Sunday to see the Cade Collection, buy parts and visit. We will provide coffee, orange juice and donuts.
